Personal care
Bathing and dressing, toileting and continence support, oral care and grooming, at your parent's own pace.
NVQ certified, and named to you before the first visit.
Everyday help at home for a parent in Veyangoda and across the Gampaha district: personal care, medication reminders, meals, mobility support and company. Sujeewa Senadheera, Registered Nurse, is responsible for every care plan, and you are told who is coming by name before they arrive.
Most families arranging this are an adult son or daughter, often working long hours or living overseas, looking after a parent who manages most of the day alone but needs help with parts of it. Bathing. Remembering tablets. A proper meal. Someone in the house.
The aim is not to take over your parent's life. It is to put enough support around their day that staying at home stays possible, and that you are not guessing from another time zone about whether they ate, or whether they are steady on their feet this week.
Bathing and dressing, toileting and continence support, oral care and grooming, at your parent's own pace.
Medication reminders and daily routine, meals and hydration, and recording blood pressure or blood sugar where the care plan asks for it.
Help with arthritis and joint discomfort, walking and getting in and out of a chair or bed, and keeping the house safer to move around.
Keeping familiar routines steady, conversation and company, and a message to the family after every visit so you know how the day went without having to ask.
Short-term support after a hospital stay or an illness, and respite for a family who normally does the caring themselves.
Every visit follows a care plan agreed with your family, not a fixed checklist. Not everything above is needed at every visit, and the plan changes as your parent's needs change.
An example, so you can picture it. Your parent's own plan is agreed with you before the first visit and will not look exactly like this.
The caregiver arrives. Curtains, a quick check on how the night went, and the kettle on.
CaregiverBathing and dressing, unhurried. Breakfast, and the morning tablets put in front of your parent at the right time.
CaregiverA short walk if your parent is up to it, or exercises from the care plan. Blood pressure or blood sugar written down if the plan asks for it.
CaregiverThe dressing on your father's leg is due, or a catheter needs changing. That is a nursing job, so it is Sujeewa who comes and does it, not the caregiver.
Registered nurseLunch, cooked in your parent's own kitchen the way they like it. Tablets again. A rest.
CaregiverThe part no price list shows: sitting and talking. The radio, a newspaper, a phone call to a grandchild dialled for them.
CaregiverThe caregiver leaves, and you get a message: what your parent ate, whether they took their tablets, how they moved, how they seemed. Anything that looked different from yesterday.
CaregiverFive steps, and the last one is the one that matters most. A caregiver who notices something is not left deciding what it means.
The caregiver does what your parent's care plan says: personal care, meals, mobility, medication reminders, company.
Noticing what a phone call cannot show. A meal left unfinished, a tablet missed, a parent quieter or less steady than last week.
Written down at the visit, while it is accurate. A short visit record, not a wall of paperwork.
A message to the family after the visit, sent by the person who was actually there.
Anything worrying goes to the family. Anything clinical goes to Sujeewa, who is a Registered Nurse in this same practice, not an agency on the end of a phone. A caregiver never diagnoses and never changes a medicine.
A caregiver does not diagnose, prescribe or change a dose. Anything clinical goes to Sujeewa or to your doctor. See our wound care and nursing services →
Most home care companies tell you the company is certified. We would rather tell you what the person walking into your mother's house is qualified to do.

Your parent's caregiver
Certified caregiver
Every caregiver is NVQ certified before their first visit, and you are told who is coming by name. If the usual person cannot come, you are told who is coming instead, before they arrive. Ask us on the call which qualification your parent's caregiver holds and we will tell you.
Tell us which one sounds like your parent's situation on the call and we will talk through what a plan would actually include.
Every plan starts with a free conversation and a visit to meet your parent. The price below is a starting point, confirmed once we understand what is actually needed.
Essential
Rs. 69,000/month
Up to 4 hours a day, Mon to Sat
Complete
Rs. 99,000/month
7am to 4pm, Mon to Sat
Family Plus
Rs. 129,000/month
7am to 4pm, 7 days including poya days
Complete works out at about Rs. 420 an hour, which is the best value of the three. Essential is not the cheapest per hour, it is the smallest amount of help you can buy, for a parent who only needs part of the day covered. Nursing visits, wound care, physiotherapy, doctor consultations and lab tests are arranged separately and priced on their own.
There is no charge for the conversation and no obligation to book anything. Sujeewa or Ranjana answers the phone between 7am and 10pm. If a plan suits you, care can start the next day.
